What’s There to do in Augusta?

I often hear people ask, “What is there to do in Augusta?” The good news is Greater Augusta has plenty to do for all kinds of people – way more than we can compile here. But, here’s a list of things to do for a fun weekend divided up into different categories, such as entertainment and dining out. In fact, there are three options in each category, so one could mix and match these for a month of weekends worth of activities.

Pick up Augusta’s most complete guide to food, shopping and fun – Little Guide 2 Augusta – to preview the places listed here, or explore the site to find out more.

Friday Night Fun

Margaritas at Nacho Mama’s

CocktailsHave a top shelf Margarita at Nacho Mamas and you will have had the best margarita in town.

Sip some whiskey at Whiskey Bar Kitchen where they boast over 200 whiskeys. If you can’t find it here, you can’t find it. Or, get into trouble with a Trouble Maker at Abel Brown. Mango, habanero vodka, Vida Mezcal and pineapple juice make this sweet with a little heat.

BeerHave a craft beer at Stillwater Tap Room and you may decide to stay for the great bands they have play on “the little stage that could.” Grammy winners have played here, so keep an eye out for great entertainment in the house.

Chose from an online beer menu at Hive. We dare you to try them all. (Just kidding – they have 78 taps!) Or go right to the source at Riverwatch Brewery, where they craft amazing brews for you to enjoy on their spacious deck, or in their cozy tasting room.

Wine: Wine down with great selections at Abel Brown, Augustino’s or Raes Coastal Cafe

Eat These Things

AppetizersOysters at Abel Brown. Hands down the best selection in town. Grab the Shrimp and Grit Cakes at the Bees KneesBee’s has a lot of small plates to choose from – you won’t be disappointed. DinnerBlackened Ribeye at Raes Coastal Cafe. Our pick for one of the best steaks in town, although they mostly are known for their Jamaican style fish and chicken.
