Jessye Norman School of the Arts

About Jessye Norman School of the Arts

Founded in 2003 to meet the artistic needs of underserved populations in downtown Augusta, Georgia, The Jessye Norman School of the Arts has held true to its core mission and has grown to become a place for creativity, education, and selfexpression for all. In addition to the completely free after school and summer programs, JNSA hosts a number of cultural events throughout the year ranging from professional art shows, music, dance, and theatrical performances, to homeschool classes and community programs for all ages and skill levels.

Jessye Norman School of the Arts empowers students to become creative, caring, visionary, responsible citizens through the transformative power of the arts. Its many programs and events encourage – and rely upon – public engagement and support. The broad-ranged arts programs of JNSA challenge students academically and lays the foundation for extraordinary life experiences. Jessye Norman School of the Arts is supported in part by the Greater Augusta Arts Council and the City of Augusta, by the Georgia Council for the Arts, and by a number of generous foundations and your contributions.
